The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The 3M Manufacturing Plant in Columbia, MO is seeking candidates to work in production positions. Our plant is committed to quality, service and delivery that meet or exceed our customer expectations. Here, we go.
The person hired for a production operator position will fill any open positions within the plant. This could be anywhere from hand assembly, to running machinery, to warehouse work.
As a Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Test raw materials as needed, accept or reject based on documented procedures
Identify and stage materials as outlined in documentation. May require accurately preparing or mixing chemicals and other materials used in production
Obtain and stage materials and/or package supplies according to schedule or requirements
Following operating procedures and customer specifications to produce quality products which are delivered to customers on time
Possess good eye-hand coordination and repetitive motions
Working effectively within a production work team and collaborate with other teams
Contributing to continuous improvement and problem solving
Maintaining neat and orderly conditions in work area and help maintain and promote safe work conditions for self and others
Work with FDA regulated products in clean room environments
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Must be able to work either 2nd Shift 3:30pm-11:30pm or 3rd Shift 11:30pm-7:30am.
This position will require weekend work, overtime, holidays as needed, and short notice shift coverage
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
One (1) year of previous manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Experience troubleshooting and problem solving in a manufacturing environment
Strong computer/keyboarding skills
Self-motivated, team oriented and excellent interpersonal skills
Relocation: Is not authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
